Burning 04:50
Polaroid dream by the river Naked, I took your picture The clouds gathered 'round like bacteria Fragilely leaking ash from the sun... Careful in your summation Packing and droving to station Feeding a striking heat on the wind Barking at antlers shed like a skin Burning- Once on the road you slow to a stop Headlights blind the mosquito crop Shadowed shoulders splitting the smoke Engine abstention and starting to choke Burning- Fire trail torn with four-wheel-drive Cloven depressions and rigours and rive Thousands of years undersold, undermined Bounding across containment lines I told you I'd yellow if you ignore me The first of a dozen straight days over forty Can of tears on your windowsill; There's more than a million deer in those hills, burning.

The darndest thing! A week of rain! Rot sets in In the caverns of the brain Need to dry! Where once was fire Stands a light-emmitting-dias And it's pious acolyte No ugly song Or ceramic gall, Garden overgrown with Forgotten vegetable So pass the key And roll Down the drive Like a medicine ball Tarn Tarn Nation run On effortless imperium Tarn Tarn Nation turn On a dime and disappear again... What was said? Fed and fought By the masthead Strained beneath the digger on the dole Nest of glass, Narrow pass, If ever I'd escape I'd pay to lay on cemetery grass The mountainside! Shallow stream! Knows no gnosis, No allegory, salivary greed Just water blue That echoes green, Drained before me like A vanishing dream Tarn Tarn Nation run On effortless imperium Tarn Carn! Nation, turn On a dime and disappear again...

For Whom 04:24
To whom will I tend, the market, the mending, for whom will I saddle the horses? And why would I run, my soul slipping under the table, diverse and divorcing? For soothing, the song is coming out wrong, I feel powerless now to carole it The words that you kept held hard to your chest have been beaten and callously stolen. Who will I seek to sterilely sleep by and by my contented heart shuffled Away on the stream, to stolidly dream s'tho your skin kept the street-noise a-muffled For sure I endure, though I'm dead in the water the rain makes a crude overtaking, Red light in front- the disorient tolls a sound quite like screeching and braking By whom will I wake to sunlight mistakenly torn through my cowardly curtain? For you in the pleat, the passenger seat, I will wait till I'm sick and uncertain...

There's no rule to getting on just write it in a stumbling song Or throw the paint against the wall whatever sticks is sellable I could never hear the sound of traffic till I looked around Tyres roll over my mouth re-set my ribs into the cloud mmm... That's no way to get ahead calloused in a callow bed Want to run but rue instead rolling on the internet I thought I saw serenity new year on that gusty beach But winter wove a threnody and sanitised the urgent sea mmm...

Girl behind the counter Speaks ancient poetry As I settle into sirens And recite the will to leave Home is where the hearth is There a fire burning long? Though no timber cracks within me I once heard a muffled song... As I poisoned my mind with fables, Still lying on the floor, Nathan's building nice wooden tables For us to eat at evermore. Someone make a midnight wine run Can you get enough to share? As we marvel at the varnish, I slide slowly down the stair And the air tastes like traffic When there's little more to do Than hope when someone lays the groundwork They leave space enough for you As I poisoned my mind with fables Feeling blindly for the door, Nathan's building nice wooden tables For us to eat at evermore. If something's ever worth buying It's worth buying in a rush And I can feel it's come for me now, Spinning sharply from the rough A career in indignation, With indifference to spare- See him sanding back the hours, Have I forgotten how to care? Poisoning my mind with fables, Not another endless chore.. Nathan's building nice wooden tables For us to eat at evermore For us to eat at evermore For us to eat at evermore.
